Vast in een fantastische stad

Hey everyone,
I have been in Georgetown for five days now. It is an absolutely amazing place. Will be here for 4 more days because the roads down to Lethem are all flushed away. The next flight is on the 8th, on wich Calum and me are flying. Alex and Gary have flown down to Lethem today, and will probably be stuck in there now since the road from Lethem to Shulinab is flushed away too. Transport is just a mess in this country.
The twelve left in GT are still stuck in the flat. Couple of us need malaria tablets and the reps seem to think we are a pain in the @$$. Somehow we seem treated as if we are punished for last years volunteers, that completely fucked up. The agreement that PT had with the Guyanese ministry ends in March, so if the ministry does not want to prolong it we might even be sent home early! Will need to behave properly then.
First few days where OK thought. Went to the zoo on the 30th of August after 36 hours of airports and planes.Saw all the amazing animals that Guyana has to offer apart from the jaguar. will have to photoshop the bars away and ill have an amazing photoalbum. Had a day of sessions with the ministry of education that was rather boring but had to be done. Rustan took us out and showed us the city, the cathedral here is worlds biggest wooden building. Quite impressive seeing the size :P
Yesterday it started to rain again, felt like a verticle tsunami. Lots of water but still between 35-40 degrees C. Really want to be in Lethem doing something usefull by now. Sitting around in this small flat with 11-15 other volunteers just sucks. Will have to repack thought. Only allowed to take around 10 kilogram with me on the plane. Ministry pays for excess weith but that will probably be put on a plane later otherwise our plane might be too heavy.
When I get in lethem on Wednesday I will probably have to teach on the next day, Thursday... Seeing schools already started anyway.
Thsts about it for now, hope to be in Lethem soon so I can upload a couple of pictures from my real project, cya all.

Well enjoy your stay in the city. See the zoo again. It will be the last greater city for a ling time.
A wooden cathedral? A lot greater compared with the wooden churches in Norwegen I suppose.
