21 December 2010 | Guyana, Georgetown
How's life in amsterdam and around the rest of the world?
Guyana is still really hot and humid :P school is finaly over, and i'm in georgetown =). today i finaly recieved my first payment of the term. means they gave me four months worth of salary =). feels wrong as a volunteer to get that much money xD.
The last 2 weeks of school were amazingly boring. seeing were a school with most of the students in the dorms. Most of those kids leave throughout those last weeks. All other teachers are form teachers too (mentors). which means they actually have stuff to do. Calum and 2 amarican volunteers were sitting in the staff room watching tv shows, i was most of the time playing football or trying to help somewhere.
ofcourse the paperwork had to be done, so we had to write down on three different pages what we taught. "end of term activities and closing of school reports". In daily notes, weekly journals and monthly schemes....
The last 3 days where worst seeing the students from the village itself had had there class social so even they started not to show up xD.
Now that the school is closed it's going better though. We went up with the bus last sunday. (16 hour ride) and arrived yesterday morning at 4 am. All other Project Trust guys are in Georgetown aswell, And its fun hearing their stories about theaching in Guyana.
Tomorrow morning we fly out to tobago for a welcome and (if i may say so myself) wel deserved 10 days of carribean island feeling.
Its weird being so cus off from the world. I havent heard any news in the last month, too expensive to do that on the internet and all papers down here are like carribean news and guyana news only. maybe in tobago we will find a way to catch up with the world.
even more fun is that i found out howmuch weight i lost in the past 113 days =). 10 kilo's all by sweating in a hammock :P
if youre getting tired of the snow just think about how lucky you are to get a bit of cold breeze =)
cya and will post photos when i get back from tobago.
p.s. Sorry for the horrible writing but this amarican style keyboard and damn slow computer dont give me a chance to re-read it.

Hey Hey:
A new way of communication, this free internet site. Perhaps you will even not read it before you leave to Tabaco. Well deserved payment at last, we think over here. Nice that all the Project Trust volunteers had already arrived. Hope you have fun and a good flight to Tabaco. We are negotiating about the Christmas dinner, the shopping and the decision to leave out the Christmas tree :). Somehow this region reminds me of a famous film sequence: The Pirates of the ....

Ten handmade smileys. One for each kilo you lost. However... you are not much of a fat boy, are you?
Fat kisses and Merry Christmas cya (!) next year? Yes!
